I used sterilites (12 and 28qt sizes) from wal-mart for my rack to house Leos.

That's a tough question. The standard 28 qt. rubbermaid is discontinued and that's just about the ideal box.

The 28 qt. Sterilites that are readily available nowadays have feet on the bottom that are not durable for longterm use. This will be especially bad with a heavy sand substrate if that's what you use. A friend of mine found this out the hard way and curses the day he bought those boxes.

Oh yeah, they also don't slide as well as other boxes used in lidless rack systems.

The 32 qt. Sterilite is a very good box. The only reason I like the 28 qt. rubbermaid better is because you can fit 7 boxes in a 4' tall rack if constructed from 3/4" material. With the 32 qt. Sterilite you can only have 6.

Another reason why I prefer the rubbermaid is because the lip around the top holds a snake hook better. Important if you're keeping venomous, not so important with Leopard Geckos.

The 32 qt. Sterilites, however, are becoming hard to find. At least they are where I have looked.

Iris makes some boxes in the same size range and will probably be the strongest boxes in that size class. If you found those you might have to pay a bit more but you'd have to work very hard to have them crack. They should last as long as you need them.
