I have 3 dragons, 2 female and 1 male. All are around a year and a half old, give or take a couple of months. And each one of them is different when it comes to eating.

My youngest sees me coming to the cage and is immediately down off her perch, and she has literally caught silkworms if I just toss them in the cage. I usually will take some time and hand feed her some, but it is kinda fun to watch her catch them. She's not quite the same with greens, usually comes down off her perch, but then sits and waits, hoping I might be tossing in something else, like silkies, but when she gets the hint that its only greens, she starts munching away. The other female, who shares the cage, I have almost never seen eat. When she was younger, she might eat a wax worm in front of me, but that was it. Now, I never see her eat. But she is still growing, not losing weight or anything, and the food disappears, so my assumption is she must eat sometime.

My oldest, my male, will come over to his dish every morning, and wait for me to fill it with greens and silkies and pellets. He does not like his food separated I have discovered. He usually will not eat while I am filling his dish, but watches. He doesn't really like to eat in front of me, but if I happen to catch him doing it, he won't stop, he'll let me watch.

I have no idea what's normal, and where my guys fit into the normal spectrum, but they all seem happy, and I haven't had any health problems, so I just keep doing what I'm doing when it comes to feeding.

All three of my beardies also have live plants, edible plants, in their enclosures. When I built their cages I added little planters on one side, so I could plant live plants. Its worked out well, and gives me the chance to get them different types of greens that I may not always be able to buy for them. I have seen my youngest and my male attacking the plants. Fun to watch and fun to see the stalks that are left in a couple of weeks!!

Pansies are a favorite, and fortunately, I can usually get them cheap and pretty much year round. I will also get different kinds of lettuce and other garden veggies when places start selling them in the spring. I'll grow dandelions from seed as well.

I don't really use houseplants per se, I tend to you with veggies and annual type of edible flowers.
