Choosing a Crested Gecko

clstuck76 Feb 01, 2004 02:25 PM

I am very interested in getting crested geckos and there are SOO many out there. I was wanting to know what you think of the best kind to get. I wanna be at the low end of pricing because I want to get use to the species before I decide to buy something at the higher end of the cresteds. I do have lots of experience in gecko care, but if any one has any suggestions and thoughts please let me know.

Cari,

For a beginner, I'd say that you'd be better off getting one or two that are past the baby stage (something around 2.5-3" snout to vent).

As for the color/pattern, it doesn't really matter, but personally, I think you'd be better off buying a decent looking flame patterned one (or two). Noe Perez has some nice ones for around $60 right now. Even if you decide Crested Geckos aren't for you, you'll be glad you got better looking ones, because you'll be able to sell them easier.

Just my thoughts.
