bascially I cut the when they are so long a razor sharp that my hands are getting scratched up badly.
what you are doing is cutting "just the end of the tip" being very very careful not to cut too much or you will cause pain and bleeding.
you can keep a bit of flour on hand in case of scant bleeding.
the nail if you look at it from the side view has a thicker part on top and the curved end when it obviously get thin.
I use sharp nail clippers, small ones that are easy to handle.
I hold my babies on my lap in a very well lighted area and just take my time and do one at a time, the dragons are so funny they just cock their head and look at you like "hey...what are ya doing?" but they allow me to do it, not breathing heavy or anything, their is alot of trust between my animals and myself.
I sometimes amazed that they let me do it.......
Just be careful, if your dragon is very skittish it would be difficult.
