REWARD - Let's keep a good thing good.......

gapnda7 Feb 01, 2004 03:17 PM

I can honestly say I am amazed and humbled as I'm sure Jeff is about how great it has been to see everyone come behind him during his horrible ordeal. It just shows how great people can be in time of other peoples needs. The saying "What goes around comes around" I'm sure will come around for the idiot thieves who did this. But I don't think we should turn this into any kind of witch hunt for others who have chosen not to participate in the reward. People have reasons for helping and not helping. We have no idea what other causes people donate to on a regular basis.

I helped with this cause foremost because Jeff is a friend and second because these people NEED to be caught. There are many of us that also live in the general area as Jeff does who are feeling very vulnerable since this has happened. I personally want to thank you all who have donated as well because you are helping make my community more safe for me and my family if these people are caught.

I have read some of the other posts over the last two days and for one have secured my home and collection ten-fold thanks to ADT and Home Depot.

I guess my point is let's try to keep a good thing good. If you helped with the reward do it out of the kindness of your heart not to point other people out(we have no idea what other people do or are going thru personally), learn from this and secure your collection to the limit you feel is adequate for your own needs, and lastly ask questions when you buy your snakes. No one wants to be the one caught with the HOT snakes in their hands.

Hang in there Jeff,
Glenn

I agree with Glen. I also live in the general area and do know Jeff. I have sold animals to him and he even met away from his house. I never once heard him mention that he had a "Mojave", so I believe that he has gone to great lengths to protect himself and be as inconspicuous as possible. It is very sad that some scumbag took it upon himself to start his own breeding colony by destroying another mans dream. It is really scary to think about how we are all vulnerable to this attack, and it is up to us to stop it. If you do get a deal that is to good to be true, then go the extra length to verify if this could be a stolen animal and to possibly catch the culprit. Back up any possible morph purchase with the knowledge of where that animal came from and if you even slightly doubt it, let Jeff or someone involved know. This is truly sickening. I feel personally violated, so I can not even begin to understand how Jeff and his wife must feel...
