If so how do you kill the live ones...in a humane way?

Define "humane". Just asking because there are a lot of different ideas on what is humane. I would whack it on the head. Maybe gruesome, but if it kills fast, I consider it humane.

i agree i have never had to kill a baby chick, but i felt horrible the other day when i had to freeze fuzzies, i checked on them an hour through( never frozen any live before and didnt know how long it would take) and i opened the freezer and picked the box up and still felt them scratching at the box this made me feel so bad lol like they thought they had a chance to live as they were brought out of the cold, then just put back in. i think whacking them on the head is quicker same with a rat or bigger mouse just smash its head against something hard and it should be over..how do u build a C02 setup? i play paintball alot and have a spare co2 tank sitting around, i am thinking of breeding a few mice to save me having to wait for stores to have what i need and i will always have mice on hand if anyone uses a co2 setup can u please post how to do it? thanks
Chuck
