why? because thats how long it would usually take an illness to incubate inside of the animal, Quarentine is a VERY important part of any herps life..i made the IDIOTIC! mistake of putting my hypo tang in with a new juvi high yellow and now their both dead unfortunatly i id not quarentine because i gor him from a reputable breeder and he got a clear fecal the day i got him..2 weeks later he became lethargic i got the juvi out as soon as i could but 2 months later he had it..so quarentine is a very good thing im sure you know that

do you still need to quarantine if your leo is going into it's own tank, but will be in a room with other herps (particulary snakes)?

And that's only if you get him from a reputable breeder and the animals shows no signs of being ill. If you get from a source you have any reason to question source or suspect anything at all, it may be prudent to quarantine for up to a year or even more.

Also, it is safest to quarantine in a seperate room if possible.
