How do i go about taming my GS

My Gold skink which i got a couple hours ago is all settled in..and the guy at the PetCo said hes about 2 yrs old and i shouldnt try to handle skinks.. but ive read up on em and people can handle them...but i want to know how can i get to be able to handle it...and approximitley how long will this take...??

Mine took like 2 months...He is mad cause he's in a new cage. They never get to be a lizard that truly likes handling...mine always empties his cloaca after about 5 minutes (yuck!). I left suggestions at the end of the other thread you started, but add this: when you pick him up for the first month, always keep him withing the cage, so he'll just jump back into the cage. Only go after you feel 100% he won't be an idiot and do a kamikazi jump.

Well...the babies finally ate yesterday!! They were eating applesauce and baby crickets. finally!!! No more pictures yet, I'll get some later now that they are more curious and silly. They are both happy and silly, so that's good news!!! My mom keeps filming the babies eating or exploring with her digital camera, so i can pull some off there later. I'll also try to get some of the calibur that I have of the adults...those sure are kickass!!!!
