Blue Tegu Questions

Everlight389 Feb 01, 2004 06:38 PM

A couple things:

1. What is the normal tempermant of blue tegus? Can they tolerate being picked up? I've heard that they aren't too keen on being held when adults, but as young can you hold them to keep them tame?

2. Could I keep a blue in a 100 gallon aquarium? I picked up one from a garage sale for $35...

Thanks

My Blue "Tegan" is an adult now and though he sometimes gets a little squirmy, he does not seem to mind being held. He prefers to roam the room freely however. As far as a 100 gallon enclosure, I think (my opinion), that is too small. I would say an absolute minumum of a 6X3 but bigger is certainly better. After all, the little chunks get as big as 4' long
