Good News & Bad News--- Unbelievable Story ---again

dvl Feb 01, 2004 07:01 PM

I was walking around this afternoon during a brief "Ray of Sunshine"--( been cloudy a lot lately)-- looking for ant beds close to the lizard pen and---- almost stepped on a chuck!! I thought it was dead as it was dark & just laying there so I reached to get it and it tried to get under some rocks piled up next to an old shed. I grabbed it---- it was Tur Golinka ("Lucky Skunk" for the non- multi- language type)-- this is my redtail female. She lost an eye & looks like hell but is alive!! This is the second time she has been taken out of the pen--I assume it is cats again. I thought I had the pen cat proof but maybe I am wrong. Possibly a large bird but most likey damn cats. I am sick to the gills with this because I have no idea what else might be gone since winter has little activity. I have not seen this female in over a month & by the healing & lack of fresh blood-- she has been out of the pen for a while. I am gonna have to do more to varment proof the pen--------

Oh yeh--to all the cats around here--- paybacks are hell.

shes alive David. That really sucks big time, poor thing. I'm sure she put up a good dang fight ! Yea, for Lucky Skunk !

Get out there and make sure they stay safe, from whatever varment is after them. I have 2 kitties, but they have NEVER been allowed out. I hate people that let their cats roam and kill.

This summer I found a mole living under an over turned big plant pot, a nice fat mole probably pregnant and making her nest.
Anyway I left her undesturbed.
I would watch out my window everydsay she had a tunnel of pine needles she would run through.

Anyway went to get my mail last week and saw a strange cat with my little Mommy mole friend dangling from its mouth. I chased it but could not get it. BUMMED ME OUT !!!

Hope Lucky Skunk makes out okay, gotta run half time's over (super bowl)

That news bites - no pun intended

I had a problem with a rat gnawing on my grey cheeked parakeets once. Payback was a mega b*@! for that rat. I won't go into the details of my momentary lapse into rodent rage when I heard the squeals emenating from the glue board, but it was UGLY!
