Ok, blazing blizzards...blizzard is a recessive trait, and albino is a recessive trait, however the chance of blazing blizzards is what? 1/10,000 or smt like that when crossing double hets? Does anyone have any thoughts on why that is? My thoughts are that it perhaps has something to do with linkage or crossing over or maybe there is something that makes it normally fatal and the eggs either don't hatch or don't even develop? I'm just curious about other people's thoughts. Anyone a genetics expert?...lol
Alright the question about gravid female weight. I know it is bad for breeding females to be underweight, however would it also be bad for them to be obese?... I know that in every mammalian species I know of obesety of the pregnant female usually causes birthing difficulties. The extra fat makes it difficult to fit the babies out, and usually the muscles are weaker and contractions aren't as strong. Might this happen in leos or other reptiles too? Does anyone know if the occurance of eggbound leos is more common in very obese females than in females in ideal condition? I'm just curious...lol
