I thought I'd post one up here to tell all the newbies one thing....

... Don't visit the board on a daily basis. You'll end up a paranoid wreck. Come on when you have a problem or need somehitng answered. When I first got my leos, I was on here every day. I read all the posts, and heard about all the bad things that can happen to people's leos. It only made me paranoid. I was scared that my leos weren't doing allright. And that everything that COULD go wrong WOULD go wrong. I've had 3 of my leos for almost a year now (all from GoldengateGeckos.com, Marcia is FANTASTIC and has the BEST selection at the best prices), and I haven't had a SINGLE problem with any of them. I stopped comming on the board for a while, and now I never feel like I have to worry about my leos being healthy.

Basicly, your leos will be healthy. If somehting DOES happen, come on, and find out what to do. Use this site as a resource, not as a learning tool (read caresheets for that). Best of luck, and remember to come on now and again, and post pictures!

hehe...I'm on here constantly...mostly out of a lack of anything better to do (and that includes schoolwork...darn college...lol). I enjoy the banter...unless people start getting mean...that bothers me a lot! I usually try to stay out of those arguments...but its darn hard sometimes when people get really nasty! I like having intelligent bantering

StinaUIUC- Where do you go to school? I also wanted to ask you what kind of aussie you have. Tri, Blue, or Red? I used to breed Aussies. WONDERFUL dogs. Best part about an Australian Shepard, is that I have never seen an unhappy aussie owner. Well have a good one!

I am not too fond of Australian shepards. My grandparents cattle dog had a mean streak. Would bite just about anybody. Got me real nice in the leg one day. So this grandson of an owner sure doesn't like'em. LOL

aussies are an ENTIRELY different breed from cattle dogs!! I've never heard of a nasty aussie! Foster has the temperament of an aussie...lol He looks more like a cattle dog though. Wierd thing is that he's incredibly low energy!!! It's very strange...don't get me wrong...he can get wound up REAL GOOD....lol...but he's also content to just sleep all day...lol Anyway...He's....well I'd say black or brown...but its a mix of black and brown...lol...with tan and white. Here, there's a couple pics of him in my webshots account...community.webshots.com/album/109865477IvaqTW...he looks like a gigantic jack russel to me....except for color...lol Oh, and I go to the university of illinois @ urbana-champaign...hence the reason for the UIUC in my sn!

I've tried to find some, but I haven't had any luck. The closest I've been able to come is the St. Louis Herpetological Society...which meets at the St. Louis Zoo on a monthly basis. It's not a show and I doubt if they sell anything, but I thought about joining because it would be fun to go talk to people about herps and also the herpetarium at the St. Louis Zoo is quite cool. Anyway, if I see anything I'll be sure to post...Chicago would probably be more likely also...I just have no clue.

btw...not to be mean to you or anything...but I HATE it when people say they dislike a breed because of the temerament of one dog! If you don't like a breed b/c you don't like the appearance...fine...but don't dislike an entire breed just because of one dog you knew. Every dog is an individual and has its own temperament! The only nasty dog I've ever known was a pomeranian from a pet store...that dog was a little b*(&^ and bit me hard more than once with those little puppy teeth! I still like pommies though!

if u spend all of your time on here looking answers to all of your problems it will drive you crazy. not everybody knows what they are doing and you can get some bad advise. i don't post here very much but if i have a important question i just call Marcia too, but maybe she just gets sickof it. all my geckos are from her and are awesome and real healthy. she does so much for everybody and never ask for anything. i just get mad when some people are real whiners and cant think for thier self and ask for help but dont do anything about it when they get the help. thats all i have to say for now.
