Cleaning cage

domina Feb 01, 2004 10:46 PM

When using large gravel for substrate in a Leo tank how often should you take out the gravel and rinse it. I was cleaning the tank today when I noticed that there was a bit of moisture on the very bottom layer of rock. I think this may be the water bowl being spilled a bit, I don't know if Leo's urinate too.Because it smells kinda like piss when i wipe it up, but that may be just stagnet musty moisture.Keep in mind that the top inch or 2 is perfectly dry. wanting to keep a clean environment for my animals is what I want to do. so what does anyone else that uses substrate like that do?
thanks,
Andy
