The many faces of Kermit . . .

SouthernBel Feb 02, 2004 08:28 AM

Kermit has truly stollen my heart. He is so sweet and kind, and gorgeous! He is my first experience with an ig that actually loves to be around people. Here are just a few of the pictures I have taken of him lately.

This first pic is just a reminder of what he looked like when he first came here on top of his gravid buddy Tahra (who hates me passionately). He is shedding in this pic.

Kermit always loves to stop and smell the fake wisteria!

I don't know how many of you here listen to Morphine, but that is one of my all-time favorite songs (Hanging on a Curtain), and here Kermit is displaying great satisfaction after his jaunt around the living room where he ended up, yes, hanging from a curtain.

What can I say, the sunset just wasn't good enough that day, so I fixed it!

Tahra. Why she hates me, I'm not completely sure, but she allowed her previous male handler to pet her daily. Maybe someday she will warm up to me; maybe she won't. I recognize that is a possibility. Either way she is beautiful, and certainly deserves to live out her life as comfortablly as possible. Let's just hope she doesn't decide to kill me one day while I'm cleaning her enclosure! She is one POWERFUL iguana!

WOW. Your igs are beautiful. How old are they? Kermit looks to be about less than 2 years old, but those spikes are really awesome. Great job with them they look really happy. I hope the bigger one comes around and lets you handle her.

Thank you, and yes, Kermit is thought to be right around two years old. Tahra is a strange one, I wish my husband would be willing to work with her to see if it is just because I am female that she doesn't like me, but he won't.

But on big huge gloves and a heavy ski jacket and go in there and say tuff luck, your getting picked up. that is how I tamed one of my iggys.

They are absoutley georgious iggys, good job

I actually tried that and she is so aggrssive that she jumped on my arm and headed straight at my face, which really scared me! Call me conceded, but I like being pretty, and I think missing my nose would put a damper on that! I told my hubby that if he would get me a welder's mask I would try again
