gravid?

gooner Feb 02, 2004 09:22 AM

Hi
How can you tell if a leo is gravid? One of my females lives with my male and one of them, presumably the female, has been digging under one of the hides. I have had a look at her from underneath but can't see any eggs. She has put on a bit of weight but nothing major, she is still growing as she is a 03 hatchling (she's currently 57g).
Just wondering if digging is a sign of her being gravid, as it is with beardies, or is it just me being hopeful?! (this is my 1st season breeding leos)
What are the signs of them being gravid?
Thanks in advance
Sam

Leo's may dig at any time. The only sure fire way to tell is to check for signs of eggs. Just flip her over and take a look for eggs just infront of the vent. It's the only real way to tell. Unless she lays eggs of course.

I can't see any eggs but she's got a laying box in anyway so its there if she needs it.
thanks again
