Yeah he does have a lot of red in him even off camera, I got him when he was about 9" and he was mostly green and black (not sure if reds or golds have that green but I dont think so)and I know that the white comes in as he gets older,he is now 14" I got him from a reputable dealer (not bert or ron) so Im sure hes b/w... does any body have any pics or has a b/w with that color to it?thanks.

Not sure if I am allowed to post this but I guess Ill find out.
I have a web page with pics of all my animals please check it out

Awesome animal! I've seen that red on the belly of Arg B&W before. I had always thought it came in when they where older but I guess not. Must be nice, you turn him over and you've got a red tegu. I want to see more pics but that website didn't work for me.

i did, one more colorful than yours (not trying to be rude at all) his stomach was a SOLID BRIGHT ORANGE, best looking bw tegu as far as color goes. his neck had light gray and blue on it. (yes it was a bw not blue tegu i promise) his designs were perfect. my parents made me sell him because he was starting to get a good size on him and was NOT tame at ALL. and they worried about him getting hold of me one day so they made me sell him. i did everything i could to not sell him, but they wouldnt let me keep him. i got him from Ben Seigel. he was absolutely gorgeous. i loved to watch him, but thats all i could do. i had to pull a steve irwin on him everday while my friend cleaned out his water dish. even opening the door was a challenge. he is gone though, with someone that takes great care of him. i might go down and visit the man who bought him to take some pics of him. the man says he hasnt calmed down one bit, but still has his colors.

that sucks you had to get rid of him. did the color change(get brighter or duller) as he grew or did it stay the same?

matthew Jun 09, 2003 10:23 AM

got better as he grew...
