Does anyone have...

Does anyone have access to a mulberry tree right now? I'm looking for mulberry leaves, but none here, so I need them shipped. I'll pay for shipping, it's for my silkworm experiment. I'd need a large amount of leaves (100 ) for this project, trying to make homemade chow. It appears to just be powdered and baked mulberry leaves, so, I'm going to test it.

I don't have access to the leaves but I have noticed there have been a separation of powders when I have opened some bags of chow. One is a lighter color than the other.

My guess is that there is some sort of powdered gelatin or other medium that binds with the powdered leaves when they are boiled to hold in the moisture and become the soft cheese like consistancy.

I think you can get plain powdered gelatin somewhere. You might want to try that and see what happens.

That would be killer if you figure this out!!!

Good luck on finding the mulberry leaves! Maybe your local nursery has a tree? Hehe, go in there about 4 times a week like you're shopping and pick a few leaves each time and eventually you might have enough! Of course I'm joking about that, it just wouldn't be right.
