Just thought I would post a couple pics of my everglades and yellow rats for comparison....

Here are some comparison pics. The first pic was taken in Oct 03 and the second pic was taken today (2 feb 04). Its amazing how much of a color change these snakes go through!! One of the reasons I really like the Pantherophis!!

The yellow rat, Oct 03...

and from today...

The Everglades, Oct 03....

And from today..

Hope you enjoyed them!

Very nice. It's amazing how they change from hatchlings to yearlings on through adulthood. I just received my first Ratsnake (Bairdi), so I know mine is going to go through some serious changes herself. Your glades Rat is coloring up nice, should be a very nice orange as adult. So between your ratsnakes, the glades, the yellow, which is the more feisty between the two? Or are they both pretty mellow? Anyway, very nice snakes Brain. Take care,

Steve

Steve
Thanks.
They both are the typical jumpy hatchlings, but are pretty mellow otherwise. The yellow rat is a little more feisty when it comes to feeding, but other than that, both pretty even on the temperament.

Your Bairdi will go through some really cool color changes. They are the most variable rat snake and end up with some cool colors.

Good luck with yours!
