over a week...?

banana Feb 02, 2004 05:26 PM

It's been alittlle over a week since I saw my snake was in the blue and he still hasn't shed yet... is it really supposed to take that long? My humidity right now is at 50%, it used to be higher, the temperature is around 75 which i know is a little cold but it is winter, even though i'm not brumating him... or is the temperature hindering him? He had no problem last time he shed, he's about 6 months old so he sheds pretty frequently. I mean he hasn't start shedding so I don't think putting him in a dixie cup with a wet paper towel would help. Any advice?

Just give him time. It can easily take that long. If he had retained his entire shed, he'd look like a wrinkly mess, so I don't think you have anything to worry about quite yet.

"The serpent crams itself with animal life that is often warm and vibrant, to prolong an existence in which we detect no joy and no emotion. It reveals the depth to which evolution can sink when it takes the downward path and strips animals to the irreducible minimum able to perpetuate a predatory life in its naked horror."
