Mating time...

pspguy Feb 02, 2004 06:22 PM

Okay, my female is finally up to size to be able to lay eggs. I was wondering, once I put her in the males enclosure, how long should I leave them?

Yo, most people just leave the little love birdies to be untill they see eggs. If you would rather not do this, the time they usualy mate from interaction is about 2 weeks. Then 2-4 weeks after that she will lay the eggs.
My lil' chicky baby has eggs right now, I can't wait.

About 90 seconds and they are getting busy. If I see him going for her right away and she is receptive, I only leave her in for about an hour. If he only shows mild interest, I'll leave them together overnight. I have never had to leave any of the females in with my males for longer than overnight.
