kyle_rex Feb 02, 2004 06:29 PM

I think something might be wrong with my beardie, hes lying under the heat light and his legs are pointed straight out behind him and his arms are spralled out in front of him and one eyes is closed but when i get close he opens it, any ideas of what might be wrong?

Well I would say he is fine he is just relaxing and its normal behavoir, but is he running around the cage and is he eating proper? If not take him to the vet immediatly.

Not trying to get on you, but you did ask about feeding amphibians and fish.

is normal but can be a sign of impaction (serious). if he is not twitching or straning to poop and he runs around fine, then it's fine.

yeh i'm the same guy that asked about feeding him aquatics and NO i did not feed him any. I dont really get a chance to watch him poop cuz i dont sit in front of his cage all day watching him and he doesn't really run around very much but when i take him out of the cage he's gone like the wind running around and exploring everything, i know it's not compaction cuz he's not paralized, he can move. I'm worried if it's too hot. Around the edges of the cage it about 80 usually and the basking spots around 115, i think that may be too hot cuz he's got his mouth open alot like a croc trying to cool down

Sounds pretty normal to me. Both my dragons do the exact same things... stretching their hind legs, gaping. Normal behavior. Your temps are fine. If he's still active and eating and pooping, you don't need to worry.
