An observation question

mngrivera Feb 02, 2004 08:06 PM

Our beardie is 2 and a half months old. Its funny- when we are all in the room there are times she just seems to looking at us and gets so dark. Once we pick her up all her colors go back to normal. When she gets dark is just wanting out for a little while? At times she runs up our arm when we try to put her back so this was my thinking. Her basking temps are fine and she has been eating and growing regular too. Does this happen to any of you?

Color changes are for several reasons. Mood, cold, fear etc.
Jessie is a doll!!

They do some really silly things sometimes. My guess is that she is somewhat intimidated with the activity when you are all in there and she's by herself exposed to it. Once she is in your hands she probably feels safer.

My beardie has gotten the dark lines on her chin/bellie for the following reasons. Thirsty, hungry, feces in the cafe of he has seen the bigger dragon and has somehow been intimidated. The latter is when they were young and in the same enclosure. After they were separated the tanks are perpendicular to one another and I hadn't found all the spots where they could see each other yet. Now they can't see each other. I take the lines as some sort of stress factor based on my experience.

Of course, my beardie has head bobbed moths in the past so who knows what that's about!
