Hey Jeff,
What type of cage are you building and what are the perches made out of. Is the cage PVC, acrylic, screen, rubbermaid, or something else. What are you using for the perches....real branches, PVC, or something else? This would be a great help.
Matt
My cage is made out of acrylic and I would prefer using real wood. My emeralds don't seem to like pvc perches.
Thanks for the help.
Call a local plastics company and they will have 1/4" acrylic. Have the cut pieces into 1.5" x 1/2". Cut your branches so they fit a little less then snug in the cage. You would be better off having three 'contact points' with the inside of the cage. This means that a branch that can touch three areas in the cage works best so there is no possibility the branch will spin. You should also be able to get acrylic glue from them. Hold the cut branch in place and put a few drops of the glue on the little piece of acrylic. Place it under the branch and against the inner wall of the enclosure. These will act as little shelves for the branch to rest on. Repeat process under all of the ppoints where the branck touches the inside of the cage. After this is done put a few pieces on the sides of the brance so it can't move back and forth but can still be lifted up and out. Hope this helps!

Good luck!
You can pick up perch holders from Barrs @ www.herpcages.com.
Also, sometimes in the the hardware store you can find shower rod holders that also double well in arboreal enclosures.
Best of luck!
