To successfully breed more than a handful of crix a month you need multiple tubs, egg laying flats and all sorts of patience.

You might want to try breeding mealworms and roaches. One tub, breed like crazy and not smelly.

Failure is not an option. It comes bundled with the software.

They are easy to sex and easy get to breed...just have some males and females and provide a laying medium for the girls. However, the babies are so small and dumb, they'll drown in less than a drop of water!

Speaking of which, the adults will too. You'll have to make sure they can't drown in their water dish. Put rocks in the dish you have, or use a sponge, or "cricket water" (the stuff that looks like jello cubes). You can't just give them a dish of water.

For food, potato and carrot pieces are nice but you'll need something a little more substantial. You can use chicken mash.

I have no trouble keeping crickets alive and getting them to breed...it's when I get to the point that the babies start hatching that I'm a flop. I always lose the babies.

And, they do stink!! LOL!
