waxworm question

jollyfat Feb 02, 2004 10:17 PM

Hi all- I went to the pet store yesterday to buy crickets and they said they were out of stock because the weather had delayed shipments. They won't get anymore until Thursday and the guy sold me some waxworms (I forgot to ask if they had mealworms, stupid I know). My question is, is it ok to feed my leo strictly waxworms for a few days? She could definitely stand to gain some weight, so that's not a problem, but I've heard that waxworms are addictive and not nutritious, so I don't want to get her hooked on a bad habit, especially since I've only had her for a little over a week. So I'm asking: out of these two (bad) options, is it better to starve her until Thursday or to feed her waxworms?

If you're wondering, it's quite inconvenient for me to make it to the pet store, and that's why I didn't go back the next day for mealworms. Thanks for your help.

If it is neccesary for your geckos survival you could feed 1 or 2 waxworms but I wouldn't overfeed.

1.3 scorpions (if my momma lets me)
