People need to realize that the intention of internet posts can be very difficult, sometimes impossible, to interpret. The person above assumed that the previous question "does it matter??" was a rude reply to his question asking about the orgin of the animal. Yes, it would have been easy enough for the person to answer the question appropriately (assuming that he knew the answer), however the question posted is also a valid question and not necessarily a rude reply (although it could be interpreted that way). Since the response was "No, but thanks for the rude reply", the poster of that reply could very well have been the first one to offer the truly rude and sarcastic reply. Remember we can't really hear the inflection or tone of each others voice here in cyberspace, therefore be careful of what you are typing in your posts, it just may unintentionally read as rude, sarcastic, disrespectful, hurtful, arrogant, mean, etc. The purpose of this forum is for everyone to enjoy sharing each others pics, information, and similar interests, not to put each other down, make enemies, and spout negativity.

Yeah, it might not have been rude, but "Does it matter?" doesn't seem like a legitimate question to me, in the context of the posts. I would have taken it as being rude, too. If people suck at writing on the internet, then they get flamed. I agree completely with you that it is sometimes very difficult to interpret posts on the internet, but what are the chances, honestly, that the first guy was NOT being rude? And like you said, a simple "I don't know" would have sufficed, or no post at all, if the person doesn't know the answer and is terrified of saying that on the internet.
I am not trying to flame you, or start an argument, but sometimes people need to know when they are coming across like *ssholes (especially if that is not their intent), and the first person certainly came across that way to me. (Although it was a great picture, and we always like nice pictures here.
) Perhaps there was no ill-intent, if so, then the original poster if probably quite irritated right now, and we might get to read an interesting thread, explaining what was really meant by the first post?
CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG!!!
WHERE'S THE LOVE??
WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO WHEN WE CAN'T EVEN TALK ABOUT SNAKES WITHOUT FUSSING AND FIGHTING?
I was just wondering.
:O

AWESOME REPLY.YES,THE FORCE IS STRONG IN YOU,MY YOUNG JEDI.
My answer was not meant to be rude, just curious as well as why it matters? I didn't find your question "userfriendly" either, I found it even more rude than my answer! w/c or cb? Isn't THAT rude? A simple "Is it w/c or cb?" would have probably changed the tone of my answer!
BTW, it's a LTC
So, "w/c or cb" and "Is it w/c or cb" mean two totally different things? Sorry for my grammar ignorance. Being that you presented your animal as a specific locale I assumed that you would know the history of its origin. But like you said, "Does it matter"? Have a nice day.

No, they don't mean 2 different things, just one is a polite question and the other a RUDE one...

First off, I wouldn't have regarded a reply as rude that starts with the word "Nice!".
So let us contemplate the reply of PAF: "Does it matter?"
It seems to me that PAF is trying to dodge the answer to a simple question. What are the reasons for his behaviour? Surely not a "rudeness" that started with a compliment.
Has he something to hide? The law in Venezuela is pretty tough when it comes to the housing of endangered species like Boa constrictor I was told.
Food for thoughts...

Beware of Commies and Mutts!
Thank you Herman. You are right, a rude comment would not start with the word "Nice". PAF attempted to show some expertise by stating the exact locale of the animal in question. PAF then proceeded to blow that theory out of the water with that rather juvenile reply. I was just inquiring on the origin of such an exquisite specimen. That's it for me on this thread. I'm going to get a life!
