Heating/No Power

Becki71 Feb 03, 2004 10:01 AM

This has not happend yet but with all the storms around here lately I worry about a power outage. How long can my 4 week old Hermann's tortoise go without any heat? Does anybody know? Is there anything that can be done to keep him warm till it comes back on?

I'd suggest placing it in a sock and then under your shirt in an emergency.
Being that you're thinking about it, you might pick up some 20 hour heat packs and keep those handy. You can tape them to the side of a small insulated box and that can work also.
