are water dragons a good starter i never had a lizard b4. i got a big tank th is a 48 gallon bow front. would an iguanna be better if so why if not why

my friend had a tank tht was very small and he owned an igaunna, his lived for 7 years thn it got sick cant remember what it was he sed it got. but his was fine and happy too, he sed it grew to fit the cage as it was no longer th 2 feet

How well do you think you would grow and be happy lifeing your entire life in a closet and never leaving it. That is exactly what it is like for them. Minimum cage for a water dragon should be 4 feet wide 2 feet deep and 6 feet tall! An iguana is even bigger! Please consider all this before making a purchase otherwise you will end up with a unheathly unhappy lizard. There are many species that would thrive in that tank so just find the right one. Hope you take my advice and hope this helps you.

Hello!

I found this awesome site that has all kinds of info about Water Dragons. This site includes instructions on how to build a reptile habitat without a glass tank at all. According to this lady, glass walls are not only unnccessary, they are actually bad for water dragons. You could turn the tank you have into a great swimming area/feeder fish snack bar and build around it for the lizard. I wish I'd found this site before spending cash on the 80 gallon tank I have (which I am now papering because he rubs his nose, trying to get out). Here's the link!
