sinaloan must skip a meal..help

frances Feb 03, 2004 10:15 AM

My husband and I are both going to be gone on business for 10 days, and my mother-in-law is willing to feed the cat and the fish but is terrified of the snake. That means that Rangi will have to skip a meal, he/she is used to eating one big pinkie or 2 small every 5 days.

I understand that going 10 days without food is not a big deal for a snake, otherwise I would do the expensive boarding with the vet. But what would be the best way to go about it with the least distress to the snake? Feeding 2 pinkies on the first day, then one on the 10th, or feed normally?

I'd feed normally. Going ten days without food is less traumatic for a snake than skipping an afternoon snack is for a human. Have a nice trip.

Thanks, Paul. I won't worry then.
