What size should my ackies be?

uromastyx Feb 03, 2004 12:21 PM

He, I have a trio of eight month old ackies who seem to be growing a lot slower than I expected. I feed them once a day on a mixture of brown crickets, locusts and waxworms. They are approx 6 -7 inches long. Is this normal, my friend has six the same age which are about 10 - 12 inches! I already have a single female which is 16 inches long and two years old. What size would I be able to introduce my youngsters to her?

They are supposed to be whatever size they are supposed to be. LOL that was confusing eh?

There is no set rule on size or growth rates. You control alot of that. If you feel they are not growing enough then you need to look at your setup and othe variables and see what is slowing the growth.

You can introduce them at anytime they get along. That is again something you'll have to experiment with and try out. Now if they look like bite sized morsals then dont put them together.

Good luck
