All of my bitis take atleast a week to shed after the eyes clear up...... Dont even worry....... Just make sure you spray it down alittle more than you normaly would......

This seems very common in many of the sp I keep as well. My Norther Pinesnakes have taken up to a week once there eys cleared up and my taylori take that long almost everytime! Same definately goes for my female Atheris squamiger. She will clear up and has taken 2 weeks to finnaly shed!!! Hell, somtimes I wont even see her milking up at all. I wiull notice she looks alittle drab and then a week or 2 later there is a slough.

Anyway, I would not get too worried over it. JUst make sure to mist!

Good luck and keep us informed.

All the best,
J

Is normal in my experience. Of course I've never had a rattler, but with boas and pythons especially the larger ones it can take close to 2 weeks. From the time the eyes get slightly milky to the time they start clearing up can take over a week, and then after clearing up, 3 days can go by b4 they even start rubbing their nose. I think I'll time my boa on its next shed. Now I'm curious.

It seems to me that the larger, rougher scaled species take a bit longer to shed once the eyes clear up...... That is just my personal observation.......

I've had a whole bunch of different snakes over the last 20 years and it seems that they all shed within a 7 to 10 day period after they go blue. I'll have to pay more attention now for a while to compare...maybe time just flew! LOL!!
