Daytona Area?

utpike Feb 03, 2004 02:43 PM

I am heading down to daytona in march and will be fishing quite a bit. i was hoping that i might run into snakes while i am out as well and was just curious if there are some really good places to herp around there. i'm from ohio and have a few more months still before i get to see some nice wild snakes, and even then ohio can't compete with the diversity in florida. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

actually i will be fishing in the merrit island area around mosquito lagoon and indian river but staying up in daytona. i assume a lot of water snakes but i'm not sure if they tolerate freshwater, its never an issue where i'm from.
