i have recently added 2 tokay geckos to my collection of over a dozen reptiles and arachnids and i have a cople of questions that i've come across while researching them.
i usually give all my reptiles uvb lighting, though i have read a few caresheets that say tokays do not need uvb lighting, ant that being nocturnal they have evolved more efficient calcium/D3 absorbtion. i have also read that they do need the uvb.
also, i purchased a tall tank with 2 glass and 2 screen sides because i will be buying an automatic mister for them and didnt want any stagnant wet air. i have read that the screening will damage their delicate (and amazing) feet and toe pads..... any info?

you are correct. Tokays do not need special uvb lighting. They should have a day night cycle provided by some kind of lighting on a timer or a near by window that does the trick as long as the sun doesn't directly hit the tank. As long as you provide calcium with D3 they will be fine, I keep a dish in their tank of it and they help themselves. Tokays need a high humidity which is why the screen sides are not the best choice but that could depend on where you live.I live in a dry area and that kind of setup would never allow proper humidity. Mine hang from the screen on the top all the time and never have probs moving back to the glass or branches, I dont think it would be their preferred hanging out area but I dont think it hurts them.
