Do you currently own any snakes, and do you plan on getting more? If so, you will soon have plenty...Wait a minute! You ARE talking about sheds, right? If not...If you are actually talking about decorating your room with the skin itself, you might not find yourself among friends here.
If you ARE talking about sheds, framing a few small ones is nice. Also, let us know what YOU have, so someone with other kinds/sizes of snakes might help you out.
yes, I DO mean sheds. I currently only have a northern brown snake, but keep in mind that I am 16 and I still have parents to deal with, so until I can talk mom into another that is the only snake I have. I also have a few other herps, bearded dragon, water dragon, ect. I have also been getting shed from a local pet store, I was thrilled to aquire a california king shed yesterday. well thanx,
MATT
Well, glad we cleared THAT up! Yes, one brown snake will take awhile to decorate a room. Is your mom and/or dad cool with you decking your room out with sheds? I would work on trying to get maybe a corn snake next, or one of the other North American Ratsnakes. You will be able to get progressively bigger sheds out of that, but it will be an animal that will be pretty easy to handle in general. That's my personal bias, since they are my favorites.
Then... If you want to solicit sheds from other herpers...You would need to get your parents' explicit permission to have them sent to you. This involves, of course, giving out your whereabouts over the internet, which unfortunately in this day and age might not be such a great thing(I don't want MY kids doing it!). Any good reptile shows near you??? If so, you could go to one and perhaps arrange for some cooperative dealers to save some sheds for you until the next show. You could butter them up with the fact that you are working on being able to get another snake, and would buy one from them if they would bring you some. Good luck with it.
My wife is a custom picture framer, and she framed the first shed my first snake ever had (well, since I got him that is).
It's fun to watch my snake grow in proportion to the framed shed.
