Those Big Mealworms with 50 different names

Priest Feb 03, 2004 03:55 PM

Ok, I have seen like 50 different names for them, they're the giant mealworm things. Anyway, I got 50 of them and I'm going to start to breed them. (Buying some more as I go to keep up my supply) Just wanted to know how long it takes for them to turn into the beetles, and from that stage, how long does it take to make more worms. Thanks

Joe

i suggest you put them into plastic film canisters with a pinch of oat/wheat bran. if they are superworms they will turn into pupae in like 7-10 days and then into beetles at around 2-3 weeks. if they aren't superworms who knows?

They are super worms but the pet store we go to changes there name and now they call them giant worms or something. Anyway, they are being kept, beatles (when they develope) in a small plastic container with oats and apple pieces. Then the worms in a larger container with the same feed along with some fishflakes. Thanks for the info.
