Yeah those 260 gallon Reptariums are HUGE! I'm not sure about that particular size, but I know for most of the smaller reptariums you can get a plastic liner that fits right into place in the bottom and curves up on the sides a few inches.... If not, look for a plastic (or PVC) sheet at a hardware store and see if you can get them to cut it for you while you're there (or do it yourself if you have a saw). Just sit in in the bottom, and I would line it with something like paper towels, both to absorb water and to keep cleaning easy. It's been a while since I had a Reptarium, but when I did, I remember the spot bulb turning the black mesh to a grey color, but it never really damaged it. I had it sitting directly on the top (with the actual light bulb about 1" away) and I think it was a 60W bulb most of the time. With anything much hotter it wouldn't suprise me if it did do some damage. Also, I had some problems with some of my branches eventually wearing holes in the mesh where it touched it, so try to be easy on it. There's also rumors of crickets being able to chew through Reptariums, but I never had it happen. They've gotten through fiberglass screen a few times for me though. Kammers have some great chameleons, as does Amazing Blue Reptiles (although they were due for a website update about 2 years ago). Send them an E-Mail if you like with what you're looking for. There's plenty of other breeders out there also. One more thing, a HUGE cage is great to have, but the standard 3-4 month old chameleon will be totally lost in a cage that big. I would try to find a larger chameleon or find a smaller cage to raise him/her up in until 6-8 months of age or so. Good luck and welcome to the forum!
