feeding roaches?

lele Feb 03, 2004 06:05 PM

anyone feed their geckos roaches? I have 2 young house geckos and a bunch of 1/4" - 1" lobster roaches. I was thinking of putting some in free roam (yup, already thought about the escape issue)b/c I have tried them in a cup with vaseline barrier and the gecks don't eat them. I figure since both are nocturnal my geckos might have a good shot at finding them.

just curious as to anyone else's experiences

thx,
lele

I feed my geckos roaches all the time, but I use non-climbers. I think you either need to feed them at night with a flashlight and some tongs, or put them in a lided shoebox at night with the lobster. Your best alternative is to get into the non-climbers which are 100 times easier to deal with.

thanks. yeah, I am sort of stuck with these for awhile (or forever!) and just want to feed them off. As for putting the geckos into a separate container just to feed will cause too much stress - for them AND me. LOL! I plan to get some non-climbers eventually.
