My ball python has red dots on his underscales. What could these be? Can anyone give me a referance picture of mites on a snake or BP?
Thanks

Red dots aren't mites. Mites are small moving dots, adults are black and hatchings are greyish-tan. Adults are generally around the size of a period in 10-12 point type and can be a little bigger when freshly gorged on your snake's blood. If squashed, they'll burst easily and you'll see red snake blood smeared on the surface as a result, like squashing a tick but requiring less effort.
You should, however, take your bp to a qualified herp vet to see what sort of skin/scale condition it has. Without a photo it's hard to even make a guess, except that it's not mites.
