Gaboon Viper Questions..

sartori Jun 07, 2003 08:36 PM

Im looking into getting a Gaboon Viper and i have a few questions.

I looked thru the photo gallery for pictures of gaboon's and i came across a pic by "mdmdauer" (thats his/her user name) and i just love the colors on his/her animal. Ill post the image as well.. all credit goes to "mdmdauer" for his/her awesome snake

anyways.. i go and look thru the classifieds and see baby gaboons that look nothing like his. Do they color up as they age? or are some gaboons just dark and kinda dirty looking? is his/her's just super nice and a total luck find?

thanks much

dan

Well the snake in the pic is young..... Barely has horns yet..... Coloration depends on locality...... Also if it is a fresh import it will be dirty...... Even the farm raised babies dont look that great.... I have a female that will be popping soon...... The babies will be equal to or better then the one in the pic above...... I will put an add on this site when the babies are ready to be moved.....

Locale, shed or whatever. Some are better than others. They hold color and pattern well into adulthood. A killer sub. adlt. will always be nice. A s#%t sub. unless in shed will always be s#%t.
