My favorites are the Garter Snakes. I currently have 9 varieties including some not as common in captivity but desirable. If I had to choose 1 genus it would be Thamnophis. I am especially interested in Western species/subspecies. I am also fond of Mountain Kings (particularly zonata), Mexican Night Snakes, and I might get some of the Mexican species of Pituophis like deppei or jani.
1.1 Thamnophis atratus atratus (unique, difficult for Garters)

1.2 Lampropeltis triangulum campbelli
0.0.1 Arizona elegans eburnata
0.0.1 Salvadora hexalepis mojavensis (ltc and still mean)
0.0.1 Lampropeltis getulus californiae
1.0 Lampropeltus getulus nigrita (cool snake, needs a mate)
0.0.1 Pituophis melanoleucus deserticola (nice looking)
Boa constrictor, unk subspecies (adopted from animal shelter)
Some of these are planned breeding projects but I am not interested in commercial breeding, simply an interested hobbyist.
I also keep a few varieties of lizards (love ground geckos) and I have various salamanders. Salamanders are a prime interest of mine along with the Thamnophis. I might get into some North American Skinks in the future and maybe some of the small terrestrial snakes.
Thanks for letting me share,
Randy
