vermiculite help asap!

waypoint Feb 04, 2004 01:41 AM

hey.. my diego panther just layed a bunch of eggs and I have read a million different things on vermiculite, but I have no means of weighing the water against the vermiculite? I put enough water into where it is damp but I am worried about putting too much in... can someone give me a better way or perhaps better method to tell if it is an alright amount? thanx... also should I poke holes in the top of the container to let some air flow in to the eggs?

there should be enough water that when you squeeze some between your fingers the vermiculite sticks together and feels slightly moist but no water squeezes out, if it doesnt stick together it is too dry and if water comes out it is too moist. Hope this helps some
