Hi, I feed my turt the hatchling sticks for 6 months, because he was a hatchling. Now I feed him every other day (still the hatchling sticks because they are small and he is only 2.5 inches). I constantly have plants in his tank for him to munch on. I have feeders (about 4-6 guppies and 2-4 ghost shrimp) in his tank all the time (he mainly just chases them around, playing with his food). You can also give your turt veggies (sqash, zucchini,...) Your turt wont starve if you dont feed him sticks or whatever everyday. I know that there are more experienced turtle lovers here who may help you more the myself. Good Luck
