I use a vision cage for my uro and it works great! It's good because there are 3 sides that are "closed" unlike glass cages which make some uro's nervous until they get acclimated. They hold heat fine, and can hold up to 3 inches of substrate which is good for uro's. It's also good because they can be stacked, good for breeders. Mine is 36" l x 28" d x 18" h. I use a 100 watt bulb and a florescent light which brings the temperatures up to what uro's like.
Heres a picture of my cage:
I have 2 feeding dishes one for greens and such and the other for dry food. One "cave" hide. another hide/basking site which is his favorite piece and just another random rock
Good luck! I love mine though. It's also big enough for a breeding pair, doug dix uses them in his breeding program.

hey thanks for the info lauren, can you tell me what kind of temps you can get at the basking site with the 100 watt bulbs, and also can the fixture hold a 150 watt bulbs, what kind of temps do you get at the basking site, and what temp do you get ambient wise, i was looking at the cages from doug dix, do you know anything about his custom oak cages? did you by chance get the vision from doug?. once again thank you for your reply

I did not get my vision from doug dix, but from lllreptile.com. He has the exact same one as i do though. doug dix uses a 100 watt which gets the basking spot up to 120-130 F with a slate rock, the warm side to about 90's and cool side to 80's doug dix said thats what his was exactly so i took his word. My uro is thriving in that enviroment. i do not know about his oak cages unfourtunatly, but they are nice looking i took considered them. As for the 150 watt bulb, my lamp doesnt hold that much without a fire hazard but i am sure you can find one that does.
