Ike66 Feb 04, 2004 03:47 PM

I got a male mali uro about 1 month ago and i know he was freshly imported but thats the only kind i could find but when i got him my female was in burmation and now shes just coming out of it but he was really active when i got him he was always out and ate a good bit but now he hardly eats anything and he is almost always hiding he seems to be very lazy and when i pick him up to bathe him he dosent seem to try and get away (he used too) and now he seems to eat better if i hold the food for him and he eats it out of my hand are these signs of burmation or stress and if it is stress what should i do Thanks

it could either be signs of stress or brumation. considering he was just purchased a month ago.....he should still be in quarentine. he shouldn't be with the other one yet. she might catch some stuff from him.

and also, how long was he quarentined before sale? was he guarenteed eating? have u tried frozen thawed peas? he may just be slowin down for brumation.....it is winter. if he was eatin before i would say brumation. but, ask someone with more hands on experience. i don't have that much yet, just lots of knowledge about their care and behaviors. but i would say brumation.
