possible broken toe?

ralphthelizard Feb 04, 2004 06:53 PM

when i took out ralph today i noticed her longest toe on her back leg was black around the end. it is bent upwards and wont bend down. everytime i touch it she pulls her leg away. I'd post a pic but the batteries just died on the camera, any ideas on what it could be?

somehow, anyway they can get infected, and sore. Sometimes when they are black like that, they eventually fall off, or have to be removed !

For now, I would try some sort of ointment (antibiotic ointment, neosporin ) If ya do that than put em on paper towels so sand or whatever you use don't stick.
But keep close eye on it. Gets worse call your Vet !

Hope hes okay !

its only around the end of his toe, it looks kinda purple now, he's still out running around so it isn't affecting him that bad

I would put a dab of antibiotic ointment on it though so it does not get infected !
Neosporin or the store brand, (triple antibiotic oinment), I think its called.

Use something even vasoline will work !

She looks wonderful by the way!
