My girlfriend got the idea that she wanted to build a custom cage for her friends ball python. But of course she has no plans and no experience putting anything together at all. So if anyone here has plans, or could tell me where i can find some that would be greatly appreciated.

Here's an easy one:
Start with a pre-fabricated kitchen cabinet (preferably one with glass doors). Check a cabinet shop for rejects. I was lucky enough to find a sidewalk sale going on with all shapes and sizes starting at $10. You might have to pay more for a new one.
Cut a hole in the top and staple hardware cloth over the opening for a light and ventilation
install a hasp and a lock
viola!
