The frog in the bottom picture looks like a hybrid. The light color around the wrists seems to be wrong for a tinc.

Also, check out this thread - the pictures are almost identical - http://forums.kingsnake.com/view.php?id=324782,324782

That's a shame about the one eyed frogs. Please let me know the breeder that sold you the one eyed frogs and and questionable lineage.

Thanks,
Tim

Thanks.....that posting is orginally what led me to believe that the cobalt wasnt a cobalt. so do you think its a tinc X azurus?

melissa68 Feb 06, 2004 03:13 PM

Not all color variation are indicitie of crosses. Ask him if he bred then,, and if so, where and when did he get the breeding group?

in this case the seller of the frogs is not reliable...he doesnt breed them himself, hes just a middle man......he gets them from many sources and doesnt know where these came from specifically, thats why i posted up here.

Yes that is a cobalt. Some of the costal populations from Surinam have that light band around the wrist. The problem with your froglet is the colors are very light. I'd bet it's missing something in its diet. Try something like Nekton Beta mixed with Nekton E for a every other feeding for a month or so and see if that doesn't help.

Best,

Chuck
