Pic of a WC, Pender Co. NC Eastern I got via Hillson...

agalinis Feb 05, 2004 11:04 AM

This is Napolean, a ca. 5 year old, WC snake I got via Hillson (his cloaca is still intact I hope LOL) from Pender Co., NC. The snake was only out of the wild about 6 months before I got it; he's also a good example of what most wc kings look like (going back to our discussion on "powerfeeding).

Not a great shot but you can see the thin, whitish bands that are more like the nothernly Easterns of Maryland, NJ and Virginia rather than the banding/color I see in the s. Georgia and n. Florida area. And if I'm lucky I'll be back in my home, the western Florida Panhandle before too long...snake central baby!!

Here he is...

If this message posts twice, sorry.

Nice looking snake. It also looks very solid in terms of weight for a pretty recent captive. Nice animal. Congrats.

I see that it has been in captivity for 5 years. A trophy regardless. Solid animal.

...age at 5 Will...Keith initially got if from a guy who caught it in May/June of 2002 in Pender Co., NC.

He's about 52" and so it's just a guess - he could be 4 or 7!

Thanks to all for the compliments - he's a great snake and the only Eastern I have with such light, slender bands.

Yeah I got that snake as part of a group deal. The guy I got it from didnt catch that snake though he got it from a guy in NC who caught it (I think). Not sure how long its been in captivity either but it looked pretty good weight wise when I got it last winter. Nice looking snake though now you need to find a female with thinner crossbars.
