Held my Beauty snake for the first time today

Langi Feb 05, 2004 12:50 PM

Well my seven month old TBS came out of his tank for the first time today since I got him. Boy, that little guy moves like lightning, makes all my other colubrids move like 15 ft burms. I only had him out for a little because I was afraid he would get lose and I'd never see him again. Heres a pic of him. I named him Kuai-Ju, Chinese for quick-fast

They're so cute when they're small, I'd nearly forgotten . Mine's around 7' (and I guess about 9 years old) and still moves like lightening when there's a possibility of food. With my guy, I just kept taking him out a couple times a week for short periods and once he got some size on him he calmed down. They're great snakes that will eat you out of house and home though if you let them. Mine eats a jumbo rat and keeps looking around for the second course.

Good luck with your little one!
Lora
