Possible egg- bound female?

merrifil Jun 07, 2003 11:49 PM

I have a female Rankins Dragon who has had eggs visible for several weeks now. Her sister, now in a new home, laid her eggs a couple weeks ago but this was still has not. She has had a clutch before and dug into the sand to lay them. She has dug several holes but has not laid any of them.

Any suggestions on how I can try to help her? I tried mixing in some sterile soil but wanted nothing to do with that.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

have you tried letting her soak in soome warm water yet?? If not give that a try. I had a beardie that had eggs in her forever it seemed, she really did look like she was about to explode so I tried bathing her a couple times a day, and she seemed to dig after each time I bathed her, finally I swapped her whole set-up and she seemed to like it better, she finally laid her eggs!!!!! Good-luck with her

Thanks. I actually did put a bath in her enclosure today as she did seem to like to dig around the edge of it a few weeks ago. I'll try the warm baths as well. Hopefully she'll lay soon.
